What is the DA doing to prosecute this couple? It must be nice to have good lawyers and lots of money.
Katelyn has been fighting to survive with her little boy who is now 9 months old.
It would be nice to see the DA go after criminal charges. Chasing down, tying down, and threatening your child are not actions of concerned parents. Who is the DA out to protect?
when it took place. Just kinda faded into the ether over time though. Funny what money and the lawyers money can buy can accomplish. Kidnapping is a class "A" felony. How do you make a class "A" felony just go away?

Great stereotype.....although it couldn't be further from the truth in Katelyn's case.
The pregnancy may have not been the most ideal situation at the time but now she has a beautiful baby boy. The baby brings joy into the lives of many people. She has been staying away from as much state aid as possible looking to the state only for medical and assistance with daycare. Of course she did have medical insurance living with her parents and attending college, that was before her caring parents tied her up and tried to kill her baby.

Katelyn Kampf's parents will avoid jail by pleading guilty to lesser charges.

WATERBORO — The North Yarmouth couple accused of kidnapping their daughter last year in an attempt to compel the woman to have an abortion will not serve jail time, according to a plea agreement announced Tuesday.
Nicholas and Lola Kampf have agreed to plead guilty Friday to assault and disorderly conduct charges stemming from the incident, which began at their North Yarmouth home Sept. 15 and ended with their arrest in Salem, N.H., later that day.
This article makes it sound like a done deal. The Friday being referred to is this coming Friday the 12th. Katelyn has contacted the DA this morning even though a plea deal was the DA's original suggestion. She will continue to push for criminal charges as she has all along.

Where's the baby's father? Is he supporting Katelyn in her fight to incarcerate her parents?
He is in jail awaiting deportation next month.
This story just keeps getting weirder.
KK dropped out of the most expensive college in the US, which costs in excess of $50,000 per year to attend.
She could have done anything....and this is what she chose?
You place far to much importance on money Agatha, and not enough on raising a child. Parents, who could kidnap their daughter in order to force her to have an abortion, lack some pretty basic parenting skills if their relationship got to that point.
and the real bright girl has shown great parenting skills to date as well ...............I am sure her child will have the life she has had ................

That's odd, as I was posting about her dropping out of college, I was thinking that the parents had instilled no values in this girl. But the fact remains, she had educational opportunities given to her and she threw them away.
More importantly, and as you said, the parents instilled no moral values in the girl. Could this be a reflection of the moral values of the parents? Or the lack thereof, Agatha?
the parents may have done fine ,
my parents brought me up in church and taught me well but i smoke and drink (they do not) and I am not right , the girl made her choices and threw away her parents so she deserves whatever she gets .... should people blame her parents for her stupid choices ??
I do not think so .........

I didn't even mention that in my post becuase I assumed it was so obvious.
The parents are obviously off the wall. The girl is just lost.
If it proves anything, it's that schools can't provide what is missing at home. If I remember correctly, she and her brother went to Waynflete. Waynflete is a good school. The college she was enrolled in is also top notch. She could have started off well lin life, but having parents who behave in the way could have messed up her and her brother from the start.
You're stuck on schools Agatha. And you realrepublican, well you're just stuck on stupid.
If I may quote here, "...i smoke and drink (they do not) and I am not right..."
Well, I'll smoke and drink to that!
So much about morals and ethics and so little concern about the new child. So sad. So typical of this board.

If you want to bring up a topic, bring it up and don't complain about what other people are discussing.
The news item that re-started the discussion was her involvement in possible criminal activity because she is in need of money. If she's a good enough student to have gotten into GW she should be smart enough to support that baby without resorting to criminal activity.

I agree with that. She was raised by two nuts...and we wonder how she turned out this way?
What's the current status on this person.
She got busted in a hooker trap last I heard.
She convicted yet?
blame the parents because the girl is a (cant be printed here ) you liberals never want anyone to held accountable for their own actions ......
my point is charlie i smoke and drink and do not blame my parents because they did not raise me right they did ........
that is why child's are messed up so much now because you liberals let it be known the taxpayers will take care of them despite their stupid actions ..........
Enter your respose in a word processing program before posting here. Do away with the ........., and the emoticons. Then, read it through 'out loud' and see if it makes sense. By the way, caps. and punctuation do make for an easier read.
Now beyond that, yes we are all accountable for our own actions. Though, as a parent, I can't imagine kidnapping my daughter intending to force her to have an abortion.
Real,,, be real.
Her parents kidnapped her by gun point...Yeah, they sound like really stable people.
I am sure they are not perfect probably far from it , but her choices clearly have not been as well .
She will have a rough life I am sure .
( better Charlie ? )
I am glad my folks taught me to ignore liberals Charlie or you might have hurt my feelings .
I agree Real..her choices very poor. But her parents are abusive and nuts...and just kidnapped her by gun point...Think that might not prepare her for the best choices as an adult?
