Well Trump is actually at 37%

Well Trump is actually at 37% (source: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/?ex_cid=rrpromo) but, like Trump, the NFL's ratings are really only important in the context of NFL/sports fans.

People that hate sports will always hate sports (and Democrats will always hate Trump), so the measurement is kind of meaningless.

That being said, I would say that the NFL's main problem has nothing to do with anthems and everything to do with concussions. If kids migrate away from football (or their parents push them away), the talent level will drop and we'll be left with the equivalent of the USFL.

From the same people that said Trump had about a 20% chance of winning the election. These polls are always skewed toward the Democrats by a substantial margin. Add 10 points to any Trump number.

Well, Goodell is certainly being shown to be the clown he is, but the concussion factor has already worked itself in the last couple of years - the movie came out in 2015. This last nosedive is a result of insulting the core fans. The marketing brilliance of appealing politically to the crowd that hates football anyway amazes me. The liberal protestations merely highlight the truth.

Incorrect, 538 had the highest estimated chance of Trump winning (30-35%, roughly 1/3) of pretty much everybody, Fox news included. You can pan the NY Times all day long (and I will mostly agree with you), but 538 is as solid on polls and statistical analysis as anyone, period. Do yourself a favor and only go at them if you have a solid statistical argument in hand.

A movie about concussions is not nearly as poignant as the Aaron Hernandez autopsy.

When they come out for a test that can detect CTE on a person that's still alive, that will be the nail in the coffin.

Also, the nosedive this season can be partially attributed to the incredibly bad play this season. Tons of injuries (a lot more than recent memory), lots of dropped passes, bad QBs, bad defenses (talking about you, Patriots), bad coaching.

Meanwhile, last season's basketball is at the highest level it has ever been. Baseball has all sorts of emotional stories (Cubs last year, Houston is probably the team of destiny this year). Hockey... well hockey is sort of a constant in the universe.

Man, at this rate he'll never

Man, at this rate he'll never get elected.

Reminder...put just enough truth in your poll to cover your butt when the R wins. Then you can say I wasn't as far off as the rest of the worthless pollsters.

Hey, I wasn't the one who brought up his unfavorable poll numbers. It's more a matter of, "at this rate, he'll never get anything done". Which is why I can't understand all the Democrats that want to impeach him. The ACA has a much better chance of lasting if he's in the white house, compared to Pence.
